Writing is Hard

Writing is Hard

It's been just over 14 months since I started this blog, and I've only posted 8 times... Yikes! This number is quite disappointing, especially considering my initial plan to publish one blog every 3-4 weeks. The speed at which I've been producing content has been significantly slower than anticipated (oh well!).

Despite having only 8 (now 9) published blogs, I have a fair number of unpublished drafts sitting idle and rotting away. My main obstacle has been self-criticism, to the point where I've stopped writing entirely. I tend to create arbitrary rules that deter me from writing – one of the main ones being the length of a blog post. I'm honestly not sure why I'm so hard on myself. After all, I've never considered myself a writer, and the main purpose of this website was to help me improve my writing skills.

Moving forward, I think I need to set more realistic goals for myself and be a bit more relaxed about my expectations. By lowering the bar and adopting a more loosey-goosey approach, I hope to overcome my self-imposed obstacles and write more consistently!
